Using Pilot Projects to Test Climate Change Adaptation Strategies in Jordan

Dr. Jim Thorne, a research scientist with the UC Davis Information Center for the Environment (ICE), will discuss his work developing a climate change adaptation strategy for Jordan at 1:30 p.m. (PST) Tuesday, July 10.

The Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature is developing climate adaptation plans for the reserves of the Jordan Rift Valley/Dead Sea area. Dr. Thorne designed a series of pilot studies to support development of this plan; some of which may prove of interest for adaptation planning in the United States, particularly for arid regions.

The webinar is sponsored by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Region 8 Refuges Inventory and Monitoring Program in collaboration with the California Landscape Conservation Cooperative.
