March 8, 2016, 10:00-10:45 PM
Speakers
California Landscape Conservation Cooperative (CA LCC) Staff: Debra Schlafmann, Andrea Graffis, and Deanne DiPietro
Why Join Us for this Webinar?
Join us to learn about new opportunities and cooperative efforts already underway for developing collaborative climate-smart conservation actions!
In the Central Valley, natural resource management is made even more challenging by changing climate-driven factors that add to uncertainty about the future. The Central Valley Landscape Conservation Project (CVLCP) is bringing scientists and managers together to identify and implement actions that maximize the adaptive capacity of biodiversity under multiple future scenarios.
What You’ll Know After 45 minutes
CA LCC staff will provide an overview of the progress the Central Valley Landscape Conservation Project has made towards planning for climate change adaptation. We will review the collaborative effort of developing scenarios of future change, identified priority species and habitats in the Central Valley, and progress made to date on vulnerability assessments for these priority resources.
We’ll talk about the next steps for the CVLCP: workshops in 2016 to develop landscape-scale adaptation strategies that address changing ecological and physical processes and to identify adaptation strategies for species and habitats that address their specific vulnerabilities and stressors.
Most importantly, we will tell how you and your organization or agency can benefit from the work already done, describe the envisioned end-products, and discuss opportunities to join the Central Valley partnership.
